The interview process was split into 6 rounds:
1. Recruiter Call
2. Hiring Manager Interview
3. AI Assisted Technical Assessment Interview
4. Interim CheckIn Recruiter Call
5. Culture fit and High level Tech Screening from multiple Staff Engineers
6. VP Call
Interview process was a mixed experience. The recruiter, senior engineers in the technical interview and the VP were warm and welcoming but the engineering manager and the staff interview panel were very uninterested and seemed like they don't want to hire you. Radio Silence and Ghosting after the final round for 15 days only to be told they are moving on to other stronger candidates. I was told the interview feedback was "Directionally Positive" and made to wait to an unnecessary long period of time. At a staff level or leadership role, a company is expected to manage expectations the right way. No clear feedback on why they moved on but it seemed like an immigration thing even though they were ok to file my H-1B transfer.
Staff interview panel had no feedback from the previous technical interview and were completely in the dark about my performance. Lot of push about AI and how you use AI in your day-to-day work life.
Overall, many red flags throughout the interview process and not a great candidate experience. Please treat interview candidates with respect and fairness. If you anticipate delays, please communicate with the candidate regularly. Please don't give candidate false hopes until you are 100% sure.
