    Software Engineer Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Waltham, MA
    No Offer
    Negative Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Viant (Waltham, MA) in November 2017.

    Interview

Don't waste your time interviewing here. Super flawed organization + super flawed process. It took me 6 weeks just to go through 2 rounds.

The recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn. After the initial call, she didn't respond for 2 weeks. They never reply to emails either. Then finally an interview was setup with 2 interviewers. I called them and waited for them for 15 mins in a 30 min interview. They asked me about my projects and basic object oriented questions and interview went for 50 mins. They both were super confused in framing the questions even. They seemed to be impressed and then told me about what they do which they clearly didn't know. They could hardly explain what they do and then again asked me what I know about them(which I had reaearched).

The interview process is a joke. You do phone interview, then go in person for coding challenge, then go in person for in person interview and then talk to VP. And in all of that every person talks down to you.

After 1 week, I gave up hope and 1 day, I got an automatic email.

    Interview

One of the worst interview experiences I ever had. Interviewers were disorganized and acted condescending. One of them asked me a brain teaser to "see what my thought process is like". Another didn't know what a SQL join table was and got annoyed when I tried to explain. I knew by the end of the interview that I would never want to work here. I never heard from them after the onsite, not even a rejection e-mail.

Work here if you like being surrounded by brogrammers.

    Analytics Interview

    Anonymous Interview Candidate
    Declined Offer
    Negative Experience
    Easy Interview

    Interview

It was not organized and they don't seem to care about interview at all. I drove an hour there and they told me the position was filled. However, they asked me whether I was interested in other positions (which, of course, I wasn't). I asked them about questions regarding their business models but they seem confused as if they do not understand their business models neither. I am experienced job seeker and they gave me a two-page SQL exams full of basic questions such as "how do you select XXX from table XXX"

    IT Support Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Irvine, CA
    No Offer
    Negative Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Viant (Irvine, CA) in March 2017.

    Interview

Applied on Linkedin. After 3 weeks got an email form HR for a phone interview of 30 min.
Basic questions on your job history and what you want in a comapny and why your are leaving the exsiting company. Plus your pay demand. Indicated your info will be forwarded to the hiring manager for review. I was told I will get some response from HR on final decision for onsite interview if any.
Never heard back after email request and phone VM. Very unprofessional and poor communications skill on part of HR and may be a refection of Viant.
Will not apply in the future as I told the HR in the interview communications skills is very inmportant in what I look for in a company.

    Sales Engineer Interview

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Viant (Los Angeles, CA) in December 2016.

    Interview

Very organized interview process with transparency between myself and the recruiter throughout each step. I had an initial phone screen with the recruiter, and then was brought in for an on-site interview. I then met with quite a few members of the Sales team as well as a few lead heads; everyone was friendly and seemed to really enjoy what they do..which really attracted me to the role.

    Average Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 3+ months. I interviewed at Viant.

    Interview

Starts with an assessment, a few sample tasks, a phone technical round and an onsite interview. These people never bother to care about the applicants. Firstly, they take the applicants for granted and take months to process the interview levels.
They dont even reply back on your emails once your interview is done. They dont even understand the fact that applicants would be awaiting the result whether it is an acceptance or a reject.I seriously regret the time I wasted to apply to this company. I had to take leave to my current work in order to attend VIANT's interview.

    Data Analyst Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in New York, NY
    No Offer
    Positive Experience
    Average Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at Viant (New York, NY) in December 2016.

    Interview

First was the phone screen with the corporate recruiter, a skill assessment and then the onsite. The onsite consisted of meeting with a couple different team members and managers that asked about experience and some technical questions. It was practical so wasn't too bad or too theoretical/tricky. I felt everyone is very passionate about the company. It's not just a job interview on what you know, you get also interviewed for the cultural fit.
