I applied online. I interviewed at Walmart Global Tech
Interview
- Applied online on the Walmart labs job portal.
- Recruiter call.
- Phone screen coding interview.
- Four 1 hour zoom interviews.
- 2 coding, 2 Design.
- Recruiter and all the interviewers were Indians (looks like no diversity in the company)
- All the interviewers were fine but the hiring manager. The manager asked a design question but was not able comprehend my solution. It looked like he already had an answer written somewhere and he was not able to understand another solution to his question.
- Coding questions were medium to hard.
- Design questions were also medium to hard mostly focusing on scalability, high availability, performance and database design avenues.

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Walmart Global Tech (Sunnyvale, CA) in Apr 2025
Interview
Some basic hacker rank, followed by behavioral interviews, system design - they basically just want you to demonstrate your knowledge.
A "Distinguished Engineer" interviewed me and she wasn't prepared at all - complained about a missing hacker rank link and it turned into a "guess what I am getting at" interview - which is the most kind of infuriating interview. It's not how you interact with people at work.
They did give me an offer for a lower position (which was nice of them overall) but I declined because I am just beyond that level and their interview process failed me. I hope they no longer use this disorganized engineer to interview people. Great people overall though.
