I was told I was interviewing for one position, but then they interviewed for a completely different one without letting me know until way down the line. Also the recruiter was incompetent and apparently did that often trying to get better talent, and was eventually fired.

What is your total years of experience in software development?
It starts with some basic Java/Springboot/Kafka (producer and consumer etc.) questions, and then use Google docs to write 3 Leetcode questions(Easy to Medium) about String and HashMaps. Took around 40 mins.

I passed all the interviews only to be told at the end that they didn't have the budget. It took about 2 months. It was probably delayed because of budgeting issues.

My interview began with an introductory call with the hiring manager, followed by a technical round led by an engineering lead, who probed system design, coding approach, and problem-solving communication.
