      Vice President Human Resources Interview

      Oct 15, 2021
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Hong Kong
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Wharf Hotels (Hong Kong) in Sep 2021

      Interview

Felt discriminated due to where candidate is at the moment. Interviewer is a foreigner and yet cited local residence as preference due to the 'hassle' of bringing non-residence into where the role is based. Came as a surprised as interviewer even mentioned that as I have indicated I have a Hong Kong mobile number, she thought I was in Hong Kong. I didn't mentioned I am in Hong Kong as I thought, all candidates credentials, skills and experiences will be viewed equally without discrimination as I am still seeing non-residents moved to Hong Kong for work and the government are still granting work visa. It' s purely the employer's choice of preferring resident candidate over non although remote working is so popular now due to covid.
