Interview
Felt discriminated due to where candidate is at the moment. Interviewer is a foreigner and yet cited local residence as preference due to the 'hassle' of bringing non-residence into where the role is based.
Came as a surprised as interviewer even mentioned that as I have indicated I have a Hong Kong mobile number, she thought I was in Hong Kong.
I didn't mentioned I am in Hong Kong as I thought, all candidates credentials, skills and experiences will be viewed equally without discrimination as I am still seeing non-residents moved to Hong Kong for work and the government are still granting work visa.
It' s purely the employer's choice of preferring resident candidate over non although remote working is so popular now due to covid.

Interview
There are 3 rounds of interviews which are overall good interview experience with fast response.
1 st interview: virtual interview (approximately 1 hour)
You will be meeting with the HR for recruitment. Behavioural and situational questions are asked throughout the session.
2 nd interview: physical interview
You will be meeting with hr director and manager.
There will be an approximately 15-minutes individual presentation regarding training program evaluation. A week is given for preparation. After the presentation, Q&A session will be started for the hr director and manger to answer more follow-up questions.
After that, a 1-on-1 interview will be conducted with hr director for asking more questions based on previous working experiences and preferred supervisor style. A lot of information regarding the MT program will be illustrated to interviewees including but not limited to program structure, future career path and job duties.
3 rd interview: coffee chat with L&D director
As the L&D director is newly onboard, a 45-minute coffee chat has been arranged to further understand each other better. It is a causal conversation mostly asking for your career aspirations and take turn to share each other’s understanding and expectation towards the position.
