      Product Marketing Manager Interview

      Mar 16, 2020
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Wise in Feb 2020

      Interview

Applied online answering a few questions they had as part of the app process. Got an email to interview within a few days. Intro video call with recruiter, then they gave me a case and five days to email it back. Case was interesting and pretty fun to see what the role would be like. After submission, they took a few days to review and moved to a video call with the hiring manager. That went well but at that point it was pretty clear I didn’t match all the experience requirements they wanted. Never heard back until I followed up with the recruiter, she said they were split on me but decided I didn’t have all the requirements they wanted.

      Application

I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at Wise

      Interview

An external recruiter reached out to me about this role. The recruiter supported me along the journey. I started with a HR call, and then had two rounds of interviews - one with a product marketing manager and another with a product manager. Both conversations were long - 1.5 hours or so - and had both a behavioural and hypothetical component. They gave detailed feedback about why I was not selected.

      Product Marketing Manager Interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Wise (London, England) in Sep 2021

      Interview

Haven't felt more uncomfortable during an interview. One of the interviewers stuck on a question, which I am guessing I wasn't replying the way he wanted me to and would not move for 20' out of the total 50' of the interview. When the other interviewer insisted we moved on he made a point of showing he was completely uninterested in anything I had to say from that point on. Similarly, when I got to ask questions at the end of the interview he made a point of showing he'd rather not lose any further time answering them. Honestly, I couldn't not cross them fast enough from my list and would be worried about what the successful candidate is walking into. As someone who has interviewed countless people in my career, it is absolutely fine to know within the first 3 questions if you like someone or not but belittling someone's candidacy like that is appalling.
