      Localization Specialist Interview

      Apr 7, 2025
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Wise

      Interview

It felt very disorganises. I had two separate interviews with two different people at the same level (Localization Manager) asking the same questions for an hour. I suspect this was because the hiring manager was on holiday the first time around. This felt like they were stringing me along unecessarily and a waste of everyone's time. I had a screening call with their recruiter, a written task, two separate 1-hour long interviews with two different Localization Managers, one of which was the one hiring for her team, and a final interview with their Localization Lead Claire Pages, which felt very unpleasant. This was 45 minutes long and probably one of the worst interview experiences I've ever had. Her tone and manner of speaking were arrogant and patronising and and her line of questioning felt more like an interrogation and bordering on discriminatory questions like asking me things like the age of my child and whether she goes to nursery, and questioning why I had to postpone the final interview (I had already informed the recruiter that I had an urgent surgery). She also made snidy remarks about me not working at one place for very long. Also at first I was told I am required to come in two days a week and suddenly at the final stage this was changed to 3 days. After this lengthy process I didn't hear back for two weeks and had to inquire for an update but was only told someone else got the role with more relevant experience with no proper feedback despite all the time I invested in a task and interviews. I guess they could have judged this from my CV? All in all very unprofessional and a huge waste of time. Having said that, I probably wouldn't have wanted to work with someone like that anyways.

very friendly but lack of feedback. finished the hr round and went on to the take home assignment. not sure what was the cause of rejection, would be nice to have some feedback or it feels like free translation labour

      Tallinn
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Wise (Tallinn) in Nov 2024

      Interview

One of the worst interactions with a hiring process I’ve ever had! In November 2024, I applied for the Russian Localisation Specialist position at Wise. The first interview was a basic screening, after which I received a translation test to assess my skills. The test should have been very easy for anyone with experience in the Translation and Localisation industry. I sent the test back on Monday, and the company promised to get back to me by the end of the week. That never happened. I sent a follow-up email to check in, but it was ignored. Some time later, I finally received a response with an appointment for the second interview. However, about an hour before the scheduled time, it was unexpectedly canceled with a vague excuse about pausing recruitment for the time being. I sent another follow-up email asking for clarification, but it was ignored. About a week later, I discovered that the position had been re-posted. I sent another email to inquire about this, and—guess what?—it was ignored again! This was especially frustrating since every email from the company concluded with a message encouraging applicants to reach out with any questions or concerns. Finally, right before Christmas Eve, I received an official rejection email with no explanation whatsoever. To sum it up: As usual, a company that heavily brags about its high corporate standards and inclusivity uses questionable recruiting methods and shows absolutely no respect for applicants, simply ignoring all inconvenient questions. What a disgrace! It was a very frustrating experience and a complete waste of time.
