Appalled at the lack of respect shown to candidates. Honestly, who manages their recruiting team/recruiters?
After reading several Glassdoor reviews, I opted to give Wish the benefit of the doubt and move forward in the interview process after a phone screen. Unfortunately, all the reviews on here are 100% accurate with regards to the lack of attention to detail, the unresponsiveness, and the lack of care when it comes to candidate experience.
I went through the whole process of a recruiter contacting me on LinkedIn, pitching me the role and company, and having a technical phone screen afterwards. When invited onsite (after long delays of waiting for recruiter updates/responses), I had a 5 hour long interview and was quickly hurried out before my last scheduled interview because the head of the department was "too busy" to meet with me. I'm pretty in tune with the vibes I received and instinctively knew I was probably not a match and that they didn't want me to continue on to meeting the head (despite communicating to me in advance that I definitely would be).
I get that time doesn't want to be wasted, and that's understandable. However, what I don't understand is the inability for the recruiting team to **at the minimum** show respect to the time and preparation I took to continue with the process (especially when I was the one being poached).
I received an AUTOMATED REJECTION email post my 5 hour onsite from a DoNotReply@ address.
Look, I'm not expecting or requiring a personalized essay with detailed feedback on why I was not a fit; but I have colleagues and friends who are recruiters at other Tech companies that value the candidate experience 100x more than what I was shown throughout this process by Wish recruiters.
A note to the recruiting team: think about the way you treat candidates irrespective of whether or not they will receive an offer. In the end, they are a potential user of your product/service. And regardless of that, think about what it means to have common courtesy **at the very least** in your engagements.

Interview
3 Call Intro, Manager, Team. I was asked basic question ans shrugged off half the time for my appearance than for the actual content of my skill set. Was approached and told that I do not look smart enough because they've never seen a minority with my background and it's hard to believe that I am being honest about my resume. They said it's impossible I am that intelligent and was shrugged me off treated with a disregard of respect or morality, although in some instance I had a higher level of education, more years of experience and a diversity of skillset. Fit well if you are an uneducated White or Asian selling junk to the public. Never applying here again or purchasing any of their products from their site.

Basic Questions asked: how does a website work, write a for loop, basic questions how does encryption work, what is hashing.

Interview
I applied online through the Wish Careers page and received an email back the very next day to schedule a phone screen with a technical recruiter. All the scheduling is quick and easy, done through Google Calendar. The conversation was pleasant and consisted of the usual background questions: "What are you looking for? Briefly describe past experiences." so just a normal conversation, no pressure.
The next day, the recruiter emailed me to schedule an on-site interview. Once the date was set, they sent me the schedule for the day. Mine was going to be a 2 hours, meeting with a total of 4 people. I believe this is slightly shorter than the average, but I was applying to a smaller team.
Their SF office is super easy to get to as it is right above BART. After a few minutes of trying to get through building security (you have to sign in and they call up to the company to confirm before they let you on the elevator) I was greeted by my recruiter as I exited the elevator on the penthouse floor. I gotta say, the view from their office is really nice, they own the top 3 floors of the building. They also gave me a bag of swag: snacks, notebook, pen (meh), t-shirt (American Apparel). Anyway back to the interview.
The recruiter gave me a tour around one of the floors and a brief overview of all the different teams. Then I met with the hiring manager, followed by the department head. The last person was suppose to be with the head of recruiting, but he ended up not being able to make it. In all fairness, the recruiter did let me know beforehand that might happen. So instead, the department head was nice enough to stay and chat with me for the reminder of the time. Recruiter came back to close up my day and let me know that they would get back to me in a week or so.
A week later, they contacted me back to extend an offer. I was juggling other interviews and offers at the time and Wish was very accommodating to give me more time to decide. The entire process was smooth. My only criticism is that I would have liked to speak with more people on the team to get a better sense of the culture prior to making my decision, but I might be a minority on that. In the end I think I made the correct one by accepting.
