      Employment Coach Interview

      Jun 16, 2021
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Workpays in Jun 2021

      Interview

I applied here for a role as Employment Coach. After a week or two I received an email inviting me to a phone interview, this was conducted and appeared to go well. I was then sent an assessment to complete, I received an email saying that the CV I had rectified in the assessment had passed and I'd be invited to interview by Zoom. I was interviewed (I use that term lightly) via Zoom, it was the same chap that had made all previous contact. He must have been having a terrible day cause this is the worst interview I have ever seen conducted. He opened by saying my CV assessment was subpar, this is the guy that reviewed it and told me via email it had passed and was good. He was condescending, arrogant, not at all interested or engaged in the person he was interviewing, he asked industry specific questions only knowing I would be transitioning from another sector and did not explore if my skillset and experience would transfer to their business. This guy recruits for this company? What really shocked me is he demonstrated no interest to me as an individual, employee or human being, he was very probing when it came to my understanding of targets, metrics, KPIs and if I understood if the business doesn't enable people into work they don't get paid, his primary concern was revenue to the business not employee or customer welfare. They need to look at their own staff and processes before considering employing anyone else. Finally, when I asked for feedback and for a copy of the CV as it should be presented I was 'ghosted' by this person, I even copied in his CEO who made no effort to follow up my concerns an to date he still hasn't shown me the courtesy of a response. Before you start trying to hire professionals consider posting Hiring Managers that are professional in the first instance and when the CEO is contacted she too should have the courtesy to respond, this business clearly leads by example, a bad one.

      Interview questions [2]

      Question 1

How would you meet your targets if your RM has met his own and he has told you he has no need to expand his search in order for you to complete yours?
      Answer question

      Question 2

Have you worked with targets and how do you meet them, you realise the business only gets paid for every candidate we enable into work?

Hi Sav, Thank you for taking the time to add your feedback to glassdoor and also for emailing Michael and cc'ing me after your interview. As you will have noted from my out of office reply, I was on holiday when you emailed but I did speak to Michael about your feedback and was aware that he responded acknowledging your feedback and offering an opportunity for further conversation. As your email was to MIchael and only copied to me it didn't seem necessary for me to also respond, I apologise if you were expecting something from me which you did not receive. In terms of your interview feedback, we thought you made some excellent points and observations which we have taken into account and made some changes to our interview process as a consequence. Best regards, Helen Richardson CEO
