I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Yandex (Moscow, Moskva) in Sep 2016
Interview
Interviewers were ok. The whole process was in one room during two sessions (no break) (~30 min each).
First part was almost about simple probability theory:
Second part was about regular analytical questions:
how to measure KPI of not team which provides algorithms for elevators.
how to measure amount of fish in a lake without any special tools. etc.
I applied online. I interviewed at Yandex (Minsk) in Sep 2025
Interview
Interview starts with 2 default leetcode tasks, such as merging two sorted linked lists into one,or maximum consecutive ones. Usually it is about checking how clean, and how bugproof your code really is,rather than coming up with a solution
I had failed second of three algorithmic sections. To my knowledge there should have been three algorithmic sections and then interviews with teams. Overall the experience was pleasant and not stressful.
I applied online. I interviewed at Yandex (Moscow, Moskva) in Jun 2021
Interview
The interview lasts 1 hour. You get 2 algorithmic problems - simple and medium in complexity, and you need to write a solution without bugs. The interviewer can give you a hint if you need it.
