Simple phone screening that was ~30 minutes. Recruiter asked typical questions about my background, why I'm interested, etc. But the one question that stood out was elaborating on why I left my former employer. The interviewer was invasive asking for more details about why I left my previous company. It felt as though the interviewer was trying goad me into badmouthing my employer. But the interviewer also asked where else I am interviewing. That is none of your business where I am applying, and it's not appropriate. Needless to say, I got the typical rejection message the next day.
Here is some advice to the talent acquisition team: Stick to asking questions solely about the candidate's responsibilities and experience. There are other ways to root out candidates who aren't a "fit" to your organization without invading someone's application privacy.
