This one definitely was the weirdest interview process of my entire 4 month search. Get called randomly by the recruiter, talked to her for 5 minutes and then talked to another HR person about the job. Then got an email explaining that they wanted me to come in for an in-person interview. I interviewed in their conference room for about 45 minutes, which was incredibly easy. Basic questions like strengths, weaknesses, etc. They asked me what I knew about Zuum and I literally gave them a 2 sentence answer that I generated from a 5 minute youtube video. HR girl proceeds to thank me and say that's the most any candidate has ever known about the company prior to an interview. I watched a 5 minute video. After some discussion about the salary, they immediately suggested that I look into a position on the operations team. They made it sound ok and upon giving me a tour of the office, which was about 5 people and the entire ops team, I immediately decided not to work there. Ops team was one huge table with cringey dudes on both sides which legit looked like a D-rate wolf of wall street trading floor knockoff. It was seriously the cringiest thing I've ever seen.
To top it off, after I was told multiple times by both interviewers I did an excellent job, I get a call the next day from the receptionist saying I needed to do the BS hour long zoom call with 30 other random people. Why would I need to do that when I just had an hour long interview with 2 higher-ups that went well? TOXIC STARTUP
