      Technical Support Engineer Interview

      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at dSPACE (Wixom, MI) in Oct 2014

      Interview

Talked to a company employee in career fair. Contacted by HR two weeks later to schedule interview. The Interview was schedule two weeks later. The interviewer was team lead for the team I was supposed to work for. The interview did not start like a typical interview. The interviewer started talking about what the company and the team does but I already knew a lot about it. I was not sure when to start talking. So I talked a about my research and project experience which was relevant to what he was talking at the time. Now I am not sure if I was supposed to do that. I was also asked some behavioral questions. The interviewer was taking notes while I was talking. At the end the interviewer took me around the testing facility and introduced me to his team. I felt like I could have answered some questions better especially the behavioral ones. But I was kind of tired because I had a lot of interviews in quick succession before that interview and it felt tedious to say and explain the same things again. I also got the feeling the interviewer did not think I was interested in testing. I asked a question about work life balance and may be it was taken the wrong way. There was to be a second round of interview with team lead, director and HR but I was not selected for that.
