Originally sent an email to the Office Services contact for the posting and did not receive a response nor even a notification that the application was accepted. Then had a couple of contacts send the resume through to one of the partners and received an interview the next day.

Interview
After a brief phone interview, I interviewed with Hiring Manager and one of the two bosses I would be working under. Everything felt cordial and very friendly. Felt I was pretty qualified and comfortable - then the boss asked if she could call some people she knew from my old work to check on me, which threw me for a loop. She refused to name the people she was going to call or take any references from me personally...not entirely sure how legal that is, but it is definitely impractical and fairly rude in retrospect. Never heard back after the interview, so I can only assume of the 150+ people at my old workplace, she talked to someone who barely knew I was there.
