      Learning Experience Designer Interview

      Dec 3, 2022
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at onehome

      Interview

Received a call from hiring manager, who was very nice. Asked for link to my portfolio to share with team, then called me back after they had looked at my work samples to set up another interview that would include an “assessment.” I’ve done performance tasks during the hiring process, but nothing like this. They required 3 entire projects (not just snippets) that would normally take 2 weeks and are worth thousands of dollars. Received assessment instructions late Friday afternoon and was expected to have it done for Monday morning. Normally, you are given at least a week (not including the weekend). After careful consideration, I withdrew my application. Something about a company asking for thousands of dollars worth of free work over a weekend when I don’t even work for them yet rubbed me the wrong way. If they do this in the interview process, I can imagine what they do once you work for them.
