I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at smallcase (Bengaluru) in Jun 2021
Interview
There were 4 rounds, three were technical and one was a cultural fit round.
First Round -> This was mainly based on my background, and comprised of basic questions on the backend and DSA ( on docs aka online whiteboard ).
Then there was a backend API assignment related to stocks and pricings which had to be submitted within a week which is enough to finish it (watch out for corner cases).
Second Round ->. This round was mainly based on the submitted assignment, where I got to know about the sharp corner cases that I missed and a few code structural tips, followed by another DSA based question.
Third Round -> This round was based on database design skills and problem-solving where I got to design the DB model and run few whiteboard queries on the same using my preferred database
Fourth Round -> This round was taken by the CTO himself where we had a brief conversation about the projects I did, the challenges I faced, and what solutions I came up with for the same,
We also discussed on working and philosophy behind the working of Smallcase.
Interview was just about my projects and a deep dive in backend fundamentals , overall a very positive experience , interviewer was very nice . Some questions were , explain flow of JWT , stateful vs stateless, working of webhooks
I applied through other source. I interviewed at smallcase (Bangalore Rural) in May 2025
Interview
It was a great interview.
They majorly asked about the projects which was mentioned in resume
They are more focused on the projects. They asked to show the code of the project and explain it.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at smallcase (Bengaluru) in Sep 2022
Interview
The interview process consists of three interviews- 2 technical and 1 cultural fit.
Special kudos to the HR Nivetha who was very supportive throughout the entire process and always provided support and feedback when it was required of me as a candidate. The entire process took only a span of 1 week.
The first round- Started off with a discussion of my past internship experiences, then a couple of puzzle questions, and then simple heap-based DSA questions. The interviewer was very polite and supportive throughout the process.
The second round was of a similar structure as of first. Started off with a discussion on the projects and internship experiences, then a couple of mathematical puzzles followed by a medium Dynamic programming question. The interviewer of this round was also very supportive throughout.
The last round was with the team lead regarding the cultural fit and it generally consisted of many previous situational and previous experience-based questions.
