    Assistant Account Executive Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in New York, NY
    No Offer
    Negative Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at tpn (New York, NY) in January 2015.

    Interview

I had a fluffy HR screening with a woman located in TX. Clearly they we're reading questions off a list. The lady could have been filing her nails for all that I know. All of my experience has been with tech companies and she even asked me if I knew how an IPAd worked? Ugh yes I do. Some of TPN's "like" clients use IPAD's for in-store marketing, promotions.

    Interview Questions

    • Really general questions. Describe a challenge you've overcome, etc.

It was a very easy interview and despite being over qualified I never got any feedback or response. We discussed two roles as Assistant AE role and a regular AE role. She said she was going to share the notes with the hiring manager and would be in touch. I just reached out a month later and got a note back from her today that read verbatim "Thanks so much for reaching back out; I apologize I did not get back to you earlier. We actually filled this spot with an internal candidate so the position is now closed. I will keep your resume on file for future positions with TPN!"   1 Answer

    Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at tpn in April 2016.

    Interview

By far one of the best interviews I've been to.
The people were very welcoming and relaxed.
Unlike some other interviewers, the people at TPN actually listened and were genuinely interested in the work I've done, accomplishments and interests.
They were very quick at getting back to me as well.

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at tpn (Dallas, TX) in June 2013.

    Interview

Very drawn out process with multiple phone screenings. After passing this stage you're brought in for the onsite interview. Manager seemed disorganized and distracted throughout meeting. Gave unclear report on the position being filled.

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at tpn.

    Interview

The interview process is thorough, they make sure they are choosing the right candidate which is great. But that requires a decent amount of grilling. For an entry level position I had to interview with 6 different people over the course of 2 days. It isn't necessarily hard, its just long and in-depth. They ask the right questions. They will forewarn you of any potential team drama/difficult personalities to make sure you can handle it. Its weird they share their dirty laundry that openly but its honest... would you rather find out after?

    Interview Questions

    • How have you dealt with personal failure or mistakes? How have you dealt with conflict on a team? What can you bring to the account that others cannot?   Answer Question

    Account Supervisor Interview

Anonymous Employee in New York, NY

    Positive Experience
    Average Interview

    Application

I applied through other source. The process took 3+ months. I interviewed at tpn (New York, NY) in January 2015.

    Interview

It was lengthy (three months). The process involved three interviews with TPN and three interviews with the Client. For the most part, the TPN interviews were held through video conferencing or at the Client headquarters. I don't recall any Behavioral Interview questions from TPN, although the Client asked a few. The overall tone and manor of the interviews was more relaxed than I've typically experienced. No personality or aptitude tests. No mock presentations or role playing scenarios.

    Interview Questions

    • In general, no real curveballs or anything out of the ordinary.   Answer Question

    Negotiation

I probably could have negotiated better than I did. I found out later on that there was some room in my salary cap. I'd recommend going for it.
