Inventory Clerk Job Description

What is an Inventory Clerk?

An inventory clerk you will be responsible for accurately tracking incoming and outgoing products. You will use computer software and other technologies to tag items with price information and location. You will report all shortages and deficiencies to the Inventory Manager. You will perform all duties while complying with all safety guidelines.

The ideal candidate will have a GED or H.S. diploma, required with up to 2 years of work experience. You need to be able to lift up to 50 pounds, have the aptitude to use a computer and other office technology and be able to stand and bend for long periods of time in a warehouse environment.

Responsibilities for Inventory Clerk

  • Tracking incoming and outgoing products

  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds

  • Good communication skills
  • Able to reconcile inventory
  • Must be able to read inventory lists
  • Must be able to match the correct product with the pricing sticker
  • Attend to detail to identify defective products
