Direct Support Professional – Part-Time

Location: In person – Dallas, TX
Pay: Starting at $18.50/hour (based on experience and education)
Schedule: Monday–Friday | Day shifts | 4–6 hour shifts (8:30 AM – 2:30 PM preferred)
About Us
Connecting Point of Park Cities (CPPC) is a private, community-based day habilitation program serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). We provide individualized support focused on communication, activities of daily living (ADLs), socialization, life skills, and pre-vocational training. Our mission is to empower individuals of all abilities to increase independence, build confidence, and strengthen meaningful community connections.
We maintain a supportive environment with a 1:5 staff-to-participant ratio to ensure personalized attention and quality care.
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, dependable, and compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team part-time. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience or interest in special education, vocational services, caregiving, or related fields.
What You’ll Do
- Assist with individualized program plans and personal goals designed to encourage growth and independence
- Support activities of daily living (ADLs), including feeding, toileting, mobility assistance, and personal care needs
- Plan and participate in engaging activities, including games, crafts, social skills development, and community outings
- Provide direct care and emotional support in a safe and positive environment
- Drive participants safely using a 15-passenger van for transportation and community-based activities
- Collaborate with staff and volunteers to create an inclusive and engaging program experience
- Identify and support opportunities for community integration and social participation
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe program environment
Work Schedule & Hours
- Part-time: 12–24 hours per week
- Preferred schedule: 8:30 AM–2:30 PM
- Additional availability between 7:00 AM–6:00 PM is a plus
- Flexible scheduling available
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (required)
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred – but we will train the right person with a positive, can-do attitude
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be comfortable driving a large passenger van
- Clean background check (required by law for working with individuals with disabilities)

Essential Skills & Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (single-person lift) and up to 150 lbs with team assistance
- Comfortable assisting with physical and personal care needs
- Ability to manage emotional demands and maintain a supportive attitude
- Frequently engage in bending, kneeling, reaching, squatting, and standing for extended periods
- Exposure to a variety of environmental factors (e.g., body fluids, temperature changes)
