About the Role:
We are seeking a bilingual (English/Spanish) Safety Manager to lead and advance our safety programs across the organization. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence safety culture at both the field and organizational level—partnering closely with construction teams while also supporting broader company-wide safety initiatives, training, and continuous improvement efforts. This role combines field support with strategic program development, enabling meaningful impact across all AES locations.
What you will do:
Drive Safety Programs & Culture
- Champion a proactive, company-wide safety culture across construction sites and facilities
Support Field Operations & Facilities:
Conduct safety audits across construction sites, manufacturing operations, and office environments;
- Partner with project teams and departments to identify risks and reinforce safe work practices across all locations.
Training & Development
- Lead safety training, education, and awareness initiatives
- Support supervisors and teams in building safety knowledge and capabilities
Incident Management & Compliance
- Lead or support incident investigations and documentation
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards
- Maintain safety records including training, audits, and required reporting (OSHA logs, etc.)
Data & Continuous Improvement
- Track and analyze safety trends and leading indicators
- Use data to proactively reduce
- Translate safety regulations into practical, easy-to-understand processes
- Partner with leadership to continuously improve safety performance
Qualifications:
- College degree in Safety Management, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered. CHST certification or progress toward certification is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience on construction sites and current OSHA 30 certification. (will consider a mix of education/experience/certifications)
- OSHA 500 certification (or the willingness & ability to obtain certification within the first month)
- Competent person, train-the-trainer, and other activity-specific certifications that pertain to common construction industry topics.
- Manufacturing / pharmaceutical / clean room experience a plus.
- Good team player, self-confident, motivated, and independent individual.
- Broad knowledge of industry standards and regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT, et al).
- Good organizational and record-keeping abilities — the ability to maintain good records.
- Ability to travel regularly to AES locations and construction project sites.
