The transmission overhauls ADC Telecommunications performs don't leave grease stains on the driveway. The company provides broadband data access and infrastructure equipment. Its products -- central office service platforms, broadband switches and routers, and wireless gear -- are used to transmit voice and data signals and connect communications providers with their subscribers. ADC also provides network management software and integration services. Customers include AT&T, Ciena, Graybar Electric, Time Warner Cable, and Verizon Communications. In July 2010 Tyco Electronics agreed to buy ADC for about $1.25 billion.
