Description A trip to Manhattan College doesn't take you to that well-known borough, but instead to the Riverdale section of the Bronx. With its campus overlooking Van Cortlandt Park, Manhattan College is a private Catholic university with about 3,200 undergraduate and graduate students studying a wide range of topics, from engineering to the arts to biotechnology. The school grants about 40 undergraduate degrees and graduate degrees in education and engineering. Founded in 1853 by the Brothers of the Christian Schools, the college was originally located on Canal Street in Manhattan, then later moved to a rural location at 131st Street and Broadway, before settling into its present campus in 1922.
