Description As an independent west coast publisher, Chronicle Books sees things differently. The company publishes around 300 books and stationery products each year in areas such as art and design, pop culture, food and drink, lifestyle, and children's titles. Books include New York Times best-sellers Griffin & Sabine, The Beatles Anthology, The Worst Case Scenario series, Plenty, Darth Vader and Son, Grumpy Cat, Press Here, Goodnight Goodnight Construction Site, and more. The company also has one retail store in San Francisco at its corporate headquarters that sells books and gift items. Founded in 1967 to provide the San Francisco Chronicle with a book publishing division, Chronicle Books was acquired in 2000 by longtime editor-in-chief Nion McEvoy who became its chairman and CEO. Today, Chronicle Books is led by Tyrrell Mahoney as the company's president. Chronicle Prism, Chronicle Chroma, Ridley's Games, Games Room, and Princeton Architectural Press are all imprints of Chronicle Books. In addition, Galison Publishing, including Mudpuppy and Brass Monkey, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Chronicle Books.
