Haverford College is one of the nation's top 10 liberal arts colleges, according to US News & World Report's 2007 annual ranking. The college is a private school located 10 miles away from Philadelphia that serves more than 1,200 students. Haverford was founded in 1833 by members of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers). Among its staff are more than 110 full-time faculty members; the student-faculty ratio is 10-to-1.
