Established in 1935, Murata Machinery makes textile machinery (spinning frames, automatic winders, staple fiber band lines, and texturing machines), machine tools (turning machines, spindle and self-loading chuckers), sheet metal machinery (punch presses and CAD/CAM software), and manufacturing logistics and automation systems (automated warehouse systems, logistics centers, sorting systems, and conveyer systems). Murata Machinery also offers fax machines and multifunction office equipment that it markets under the Muratec name. The company, which is not to be confused with electronic component maker Murata Manufacturing, has five factories in Japan.
