Louisiana Tech University, founded in 1894, has an annual enrollment of approximately 11,000 students. The public research university offers bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees through more than 80 undergraduate and more than 40 graduate academic programs at colleges of applied and natural sciences, business, education, engineering and science, and liberal arts. It also confers associate degrees and post-bachelor's certificates. The university's research centers focus on education and government, technology and commercialization, and economic development and community support. Louisiana Tech's student-athletes compete in more than 15 varsity sports.
