RWE npower has gone to the nth degree to deliver power in the UK. The company, a subsidiary of German multi-utility RWE, controls the UK holdings of the former National Power, a UK power generator. The integrated energy company's primary business, npower, supplies retail energy to 6.5 million gas and power customers. RWE npower has a generation capacity of more than 11,000 MW (primarily fossil-fueled), or about 10% of total UK capacity. npower cogen is one of the UKs top developers of cogeneration (the production of power and heat from a single source).
