Premier Scales & Systems began in 1969 when Wayne S. Hargett, Sr. began servicing scales from his home in Evansville, Indiana. Soon after, scale sales were added to complement his growing service business. By 1971 the business was incorporated as Southern Indiana Scale Company, Inc. Growth did not stop there, in 1987 the company expanded into Louisville, KY. The addition location more than doubled the company's geographic sales and service area. This market growth and territory development, which would soon include coverage of Central and Western Kentucky, Southern Illinois, and Southern Indiana, a realization was met that a new name was be needed. As a result, in 1992, all locations began doing business as Premier Scales & Systems. In 2006 Wayne's son, Wayne, Jr, began managing the day to day operations of the company and by 2012 he became full owner. Under Wayne, Jr. lead the company has continued to grow and expand their services to a new level.
