I have been working at RStudio full-time (More than a year)
Small nimble company with interesting projects, competitive pay and benefits, open source, not driven by desire to get bought out or go public, freedom to work from home and no management overhead nonsense.
If you can't work independently (extremely independently) on complex software development projects then this isn't for you. Same if you're in it for getting rich off stock versus helping build a healthy company and excellent open source products.
Advice to Management
Don't grow too fast. Don't try to do too many things.
