Description You might say these Rangers are guided by the Law of the American League West. Texas Rangers Baseball Club is a professional baseball team that represents the Dallas area in Major League Baseball. Founded in 1961 as the second incarnation of the Washington Senators, the franchise moved to Texas in 1972. Playing host at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington, the Rangers won their first American League pennant in 2010 and their second pennant in 2011. Texas businessman Tom Hicks, who had owned the team since 1998 through his Hicks Sports Group Holdings company, sold the Rangers in 2010 to a group led by sports lawyer Chuck Greenberg and current team CEO and Hall of Fame pitcher Nolan Ryan.
