As part of English Tourism Week, Rebecca Brooks, Managing Director of Abbey - The Destination Experts, joined a high‑level roundtable at 10 Downing Street in her role as Chair of UKinbound, alongside Minister for Tourism Stephanie Peacock MP and senior leaders from across the sector. We’re passionate about travel - and equally committed to our Environmental, Social and Governance responsibilities too. A key part of that commitment is supporting the communities we visit, helping to ensure that the benefits of tourism are shared fairly. Two weeks ago, seven members of our UK team volunteered with Invisible Cities, a social enterprise that trains people with lived experience of homelessness to become walking tour guides in cities across the UK. Their work not only provides meaningful employment and skills development but also challenges perceptions and builds stronger community connections. During our session, we created personalised care packages that will soon be distributed to people in need via homeless charities, care homes, and other community organisations. Each box, decorated by hand and filled with essential toiletries, snacks, stationery, and a handwritten message, is completely unique. Our goal was to offer both practical support and a moment of kindness: a small reminder that someone took the time to create something just for them.
