Mirae's future is no mirage. Mirae (translated as "future") makes semiconductor testing equipment. Its operations divide between assembly test equipment and surface mount technology (SMT). The lineup includes memory component test handlers -- devices that manipulate integrated circuits (ICs) during testing -- and burn-in sorters. Surface-mount device placement systems and software are core lines; in 2008 the third in its series of chip mounters was introduced. Mirae also offers a slew of light emitting diode (LED), probe card, linear motor technology (LMT), and Hi-Fix board products. Customers include Hynix Semiconductor and SanDisk. South Korea accounts for most of its sales, with the US a top export market.
