Diesel engines power Hong Leong Asia. Through its subsidiary, China Yuchai International, Hong Leong Asia is a leader in manufacturing and distribution, especially diesel engines and construction equipment. It is also one of the largest suppliers of building materials in Singapore and surrounding regions. Hong Leong Asia makes steel products, cement, and ready-mix concrete, and it quarries rock and supplies granite for construction. Other subsidiaries include China-based Henan Xinfei (household appliances), Rex Industrial Packaging Group (containers), and GPac Technology (pallets). Almost 90% of sales come from China. Hong Leong Asia was founded in 1941.
