Next! Nextest's systems are always ready to test another integrated circuit (IC). The company's Maverick automated testing products are used to screen application-specific integrated circuits, field programmable gate arrays and other logic devices, non-volatile (flash) memory, microcontrollers, and system-on-a-chip (SoC) semiconductors for defects. Customers include memory makers SanDisk (37% of sales), Hynix Semiconductor, Samsung Electronics (18%), and Atmel (11%). Nextest Systems outsources much of its manufacturing. The company gets most of its sales from the Asia/Pacific region. In 2008 rival Teradyne acquired Nextest Systems for about $325 million, net of cash acquired.
