We see our curriculum as a tool to inspire our educators to differentiate their methodology for each class, so students reach their full learning potential! Our courses are 25-30 weeks long which offers both students and teachers alike stability and the chance to form a lasting bond and connection. Receiving competitive pay, Whales English teachers can progress in their career whilst being fully supported by a dedicated technical team and a designated contact person.

In 2012, a group of Chinese parents met in an online forum and bonded over their struggles to find excellent English classes for their children. In their minds, the domestic school system was failing to introduce fluency and modern teaching methods. Subsequently, many parents volunteered to connect with American teachers and formed Sprout, a non-profit organization for ESL providing an American curriculum to Chinese students. Sprout’s parents followed thousands of online courses, made detailed notes of their children’s difficulties, summarized their findings and used this data to create their online courses. Soon, Sprout expanded its courses to move from simple ESL to building a virtual school, offering additional subjects such as Science and Social Studies. Today, the brand is called Whales English, expanding its unique model all across China. Whales English turned from a non-profit organization into a fully corporate operation and just celebrated its 8th anniversary.
