Founded in 1988, Ashlar provides three-dimensional drafting and modeling software for creating mechanical designs, buildings, and other applications, employing resellers around the world. Its clients include artists, engineers, inventors and architects; Ashlar's products can be used on both Mac and Windows PCs. The company (which does business as Ashlar-Vellum, after its Vellum product line) relocated from California to Texas in 1997, with ownership changing hands in 1998.
