Davis-Standard designs and manufactures extrusion systems and process controls for the wire, cable, plastic, and rubber industries. Extrusion products include foam, fiber, pipe, and sheet extruders; its conversion products provide liquid coating and laminating, blow molding, and industrial films. It operates through subsidiaries which are part of Extrusion Systems or Converting Systems groups. Manufacturing facilities are in Germany, the UK, and the US, with R&D centers in the US and Germany. Davis-Standard was founded in 1848 as a manufacturer of cotton gin machinery, but began manufacturing extruders a century later. It is owned by management and an investor group led by equity firm Hamilton Robinson.
