Description Serving about 2,000 member companies, the not-for-profit Credit Management Association (formerly CMA Business Credit Services) provides credit information and assistance in collections, credit risk management, and filing of liens. The association also works with insolvent companies to work out alternatives to filing for bankruptcy. Its California Institute of Credit arm provides professional credit certification and educational programs. Founded in 1883, Credit Management Association is the largest of 45 affiliates of the National Association of Credit Management. It is active in the western US.
