Description SWIFT GALEY (formerly Galey & Lord Swift Denim) is hoping that one day it will be too big for its britches. For now -- having suffered bankruptcy twice since 2002, survived the credit crunch of 2009, and witnessed the devastation of the US textile industry by foreign outsourcing -- it is hanging on by a thread. SWIFT GALEY has produced fabrics such as denim, twill, poplin, corduroy, and blends for major retailers such as Abercrombie & Fitch and Gap. It has made specialty fabrics for the home, sportswear, and uniforms. It still has manufacturing operations in the US and Cambodia. In 2004 New York-based investment firm Patriarch Partners LLC bought Galey & Lord for approximately $188 million.
