Description Lacrosse may be America's oldest sport but this is one of the country's newest leagues. Major League Lacrosse (MLL) is an upstart sports league with 8teams that play between May and August. The season culminates in a four-team playoff for the league championship. MLL regulates franchise ownership and oversees rules and officiating; it also negotiates broadcasting rights to games and other sponsorship and merchandising activities. The league was formed in 2001 by Jake Steinfeld, infomercial fitness guru and CEO of Body by Jake Enterprises.
