      Description ESSA Bancorp is the holding company for ESSA Bank & Trust, which offers deposits and loans to consumers and businesses in eastern Pennsylvania. One- to four-family residential mortgages dominate the bank's lending activities, representing more than 80% of its loan portfolio. Commercial real estate loans account for 10%, while home equity loans and lines of credit make up ESSA's other significant loan segments. In addition to its lending and deposit services, the bank also offers financial and investment services through a third-party firm. Founded in 1916, ESSA operates more than a dozen branches in Monroe and Northampton counties.
