Description Virtek understands the many virtues of lasers. The company makes lasers used to engrave, engineer, and inspect manufactured products. Laser marking and engraving has applications in the automotive, tool and die, electronics, glass, mold making, and prefabricated construction markets. When it comes to engineering, lasers can be used to project detailed lay-ups of aerospace, automotive, and construction projects before construction begins. Lastly, once something is built, lasers can be used to inspect parts for conformity with specifications. North America and Europe account for the majority of Virtek's sales. In late 2008 Gerber Scientific acquired the company for about C$35 million in cash.
