Bandspeed develops integrated circuits (ICs) and software for use in wireless network access points. The fabless semiconductor company's AirMaestro processor and software incorporate what Bandspeed calls spatial division multiple access (SDMA) for enterprise-grade wireless LANs, using the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi standards through adaptive frequency-hopping technology. Customers include Planex Communications, a Japan-based supplier of wireless LAN equipment and other datacom products. Bandspeed was established in 1998.
