Capital Preparatory Schools is a Charter Management Organization operating tuition-free, public charter schools across New York and Connecticut, focusing on college prep with a social justice lens. Capital Prep provides a diverse community of student learners with the academic and character college and career readiness skills needed to become responsible and engaged citizens for social justice. We accomplish this by providing a nurturing and loving environment that fosters strong student-teacher relationships, requires rigor throughout a classic college-preparatory curriculum, demands high expectations, and is relevant; connecting student learning to real-world experiences and opportunities through applied teaching methods such as project-based learning.  With this approach, we are proud to develop caring, respectful, responsible, knowledgeable, and self-confident students prepared to excel in higher education and actively engage in and contribute to their communities. Our goal is to employ the finest educators from around the country, provide them with excellent professional development and career support, and, together, create opportunities that inspire us all.

Classical Charter Schools is a network of high-performing public charter schools in the South Bronx. We maintain an uncompromising but purposeful structure that liberates teachers and scholars from distraction, transforming the classroom into an environment sharply focused on learning. Despite serving students typically deemed ‘at-risk,’ we consistently outperform over 90% of New York schools and won the National Blue Ribbon Award for Exemplary High Performance in 2014. Founded in 2006, South Bronx Classical I serves Kindergarten to 8th grade.
