AIA Brazos held its 3rd Annual Gingerbread Build-Off on Sunday, December 12th, featuring teams of professional architects and engineers who put their construction and culinary skills to the test. There were five different categories where judges selected a winner. Those categories included tallest structure, most Aggie-centric, and holiday themes. Congratulations to the BRW College Station team on winning Most Aggie Centric!...Show more

On Friday, October 15th the BRW Dallas team got together for an epic team building event. We traveled to Escapology Dallas and broke into twelve teams to battle it out for 1st Place...and last place. That's right. We were striving for last place...or at least Fred was. Throughout the event, our teams attempted to escape one of six rooms, test their knowledge in trivia, and use their architecture prowess to build the best marshmallow/toothpick/spaghetti noodle bridge in the world that could withstand the weight of many, many pennies. In the end, Team Green won 1st Place and Team Pink (led by Fred) won last place....Show more

What is Canstruction®? Canstruction® was founded in 1992 by the late Cheri Melillo and colleagues from the Society for Design Administration (SDA) working in tandem with the American Institute of Architects. The vision for Canstruction® is to unite the design, engineering and construction industry through a unique and fun medium that would provide canned food to the North Texas Food Bank. Over Canstruction Dallas’ 23 year history, they have provided 1.5 million cans for those in need! Competitions are held annually in over 150 cities around the world. The event combines the competitive spirit of a design/build competition with a unique way to help feed the hungry. Competing teams led by architects and engineers partner with design and construction firms to showcase their talents by designing giant CANsculptures™ made out of canned foods. At the close of the exhibition all the food will be donated to the local food bank and used in the fight against hunger....Show more
