Besse Forest Products Group is branching out and it wooden want it any other way. Consisting of about a dozen firms, the group manufactures and exports hardwood lumber, veneer, and plywood from nearly 20 species of trees. The group's manufacturing plants, including veneer cutting and splicing plants, rotary cutting mills, and sawmills, have the capacity to produce more than 850 million sq. ft. of veneer and some 40 million board feet of lumber annually. Besse Forest Products Group also exports lumber, logs, and veneer from its mills and warehouses in the US and Canada, with the bulk of its operations in Wisconsin and Michigan. Owned by the Besse family, the group was founded in 1966.
