Nihon Plast is never left holding the airbag. The company manufactures airbags, engine components, instrument panels, interior trim parts, steering wheels, and other automobile parts that are always in demand by major auto manufacturers, including Honda and Nissan. Nihon Plast, which operates through about 10 subsidiaries in five countries, also makes synthetic resins, electrical components used in gaming machines, chemicals, and packaging used for shipping machines. Honda, which has been purchasing auto products from the company since 1968, owns about 20% of Nihon Plast. Honda represents about 50% of Nihon Plast's annual revenues, while Nissan generates approximately 47% of revenues.
