Description Lipscomb University was founded in 1891 as the Nashville Bible School by David Lipscomb and James A. Harding; it was renamed in Lipscomb's honor in 1918. The coeducational Christian school offers more than 130 programs of study in about 65 majors leading to bachelor's degrees at colleges of arts and humanities, Bible and ministry, business, education and professional studies, natural and applied sciences, pharmacy, and engineering. It also offers graduate degrees in theology, accountancy, business administration, conflict management, counseling, and education, in addition to a doctorate degree in pharmacy.
