API Cryptek (formerly Cryptek) doesn't want anyone but you to read your messages. The company provides secure data networking hardware and software products. Its line of ION secure networking products includes remote access devices and network access points. It also offers systems that protect networked office equipment with smart cards and personal ID numbers (NetGard) and secure fax machines. The former Cryptek filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in late 2008. In early 2009 it petitioned to move to Chapter 7; senior management purchased its assets and began operating again shortly thereafter. API Technologies purchased the company later the same year.
